University Student Helps Care for Elderly During Pandemic

University of Worcester Business Management student, Simona Richtarova, is among those who have been helping in the community during the pandemic.

Simona has been working as a care assistant at a care home. She had been in the role prior to the pandemic, but increased her hours as demand increased.  Busy with extra shifts at the care home, including many night shifts, Simona took extensions to her university deadlines to ensure she could complete her studies while lending her services in the crisis.

She said, although difficult at times, she had enjoyed the experience. “It has been hard, but I’m glad I could help,” she added.

Simona completes her studies at Worcester this summer and is going on to further study at the Czech University of Life Sciences, in Prague.
